One of the relict, worn-down mountains of the Peninsula. The Delhi ridge is its extension; together with the Delhi ridge and the Sahyadris it forms the water divide between the rivers of the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. The Great Indian desert lies to its north-west; the Banas rises in it.
