💱 Money of the world
Shared currencies and the rupee family.
-
The rupee family
Besides India, the ISO currency list names a rupee for Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Seychelles — and lists the Indian rupee itself as a currency of Bhutan too.
-
The euro
One currency for many European countries — among them France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands.
-
Three-letter codes
Every currency has a three-letter ISO code used by banks worldwide — INR for the Indian rupee, USD for the US dollar, EUR for the euro, JPY for the yen, GBP for the pound sterling.
How we check: each capital is from the World Bank’s own record for that country; each currency from the ISO 4217 list (published by SIX, the standard’s official maintenance agency); border lengths from the Press Information Bureau; the subcontinent and island neighbours from NCERT. Every phrase is found in its source when the page is built.
